Technical Manuals

We have prepared hundreds of Technical Manuals for a variety of Clients. They can be for an item of equipment or a production process. Manuals should include good Technical Illustrations. People are much more receptive to graphics than to text, which should complement each other. Well illustrated manuals make Technical Translation into other languages much easier. Manuals can also be posted on company websites as pdf files.

For equipment manuals we recommend the following structure:

Description - We consider this vitally important and often something many manuals lack.

Installation - required for the CE mark.

Operating Instructions - these are specifically required for the CE mark.

Maintenance & Setting Up - as required by the client.

De-installation & Disposal - required for the CE mark.

Illustrated Parts Lists - invaluable for spares referencing.

Note that we do not recommend a separate section on
Safety as this is an inherent feature of all sections.

Trouble Shooting & Fault Diagnosis can also be included. Because every eventuality cannot be foreseen, we believe that providing a good description of the equipment or process will better enable users to effectively diagnose and remedy fault conditions.

Our manuals are prepared to the guidelines in the British Standard for Technical Manuals BS 4884.
They will also meet the requirements of the CE mark.
